The essence of America is in the extreme passion to do things other thought were not possible. How our country started was out of people that were not ok with life under a tyranny rule. Today we honor those who fought for human rights and won.
If we forget how great a price has been paid for our freedoms all the death though out the years will have been in vain. So let us take heart and stock of our own allegiance to this great country. If we keep just allowing lawlessness abound in the names of
Choice and other names we are going to lose all that our rights among a lot more. The choice is each individual person that makes up the whole of our country. All of us have to take a long hard look at who we are, what we believe in, and why we support the
Things we support. It is time to do a house cleaning in all our hearts.

Shawn Thornton an Obituary
Today we come to celebrate the passing of a man that got a late start in life. Shawn was a man devoted to his wife and Kids for he knew how important it was to train them how to love others.
Shawn did not always do it right you might say that he really did it wrong all the time. The one thing he came to understand was that he was really not a failure but a total success. The reason that he came to know this was that he held to the thought “it is not how you start, it is how you finish.”
He realized that just like when you start to learn anything new you are never good at it. But in time if you commit yourself to the study and application of your knowledge of any subject you love then it will become part of you. This is why on March 29th the year 1994 he gave his life over to the care and watch of Jesus Christ. At this point there was no turning back for him.
You can say it was a long and hard journey to getting clean and sober but after seven years the Lord blessed him with the meeting of a wonderful and beautiful woman named Kristi Marie Oberle. If you were to say that she took his breath away it would be an understatement. They married on May 11th 2001 with many hopes and dreams.
They only after one month became pregnant with Chloe Lynn Thornton. She would be for Shawn the showing of just how much His God Jesus had forgiven him of all his trespasses. Then only twenty one moths later they were blessed with Zechariah Christopher Thornton. This was a pleasure to their hearts to have a son.
Then while Shawn was working over three hundred miles away from home the two felt a leading by God to try and have another baby. They conceived a child and found out they were with child while on vacation at Shawn’s parent’s house in Arizona. It was a shock and surprise. It was not long after returning home that the two separated from each other. They had just gone through so much in the seven years that it had strained their hopes and dreams so much.
They were not sure if they could move forward with each other. The world they lived in was in such trouble and she had just acquired a job at Wells Fargo and Shawn had been put into a new career his own business by his mother Christy. The company ACN a worldwide direct selling telecommunications company endorsed by Donald Trump, which was at that time one of the world’s wealthiest men. The future was very unsure for the both of them but one thing they did know. God was still with the both of them and that if they both submitted to His will things might work out.
All Shawn wanted was for their hopes and dreams to be realized one more time so that God would be glorified in them. But the most daunting thought on Shawn’s mind that he would go down in history as a man that failed at everything he did. But he came to remember that if he did not stay down and listen to all the voices that would tell him he could not succeed in life. He had to only listen to those that saw the gifts in him and believe he would succeed in life if he NEVER GAVE UP! Because he knew the word of God said “As a man thinks in his heart so is he!”
So he made a resolve that no matter what he would not stop until he had realized the dream set in his heart by God to be a man after God own heart. Even if that meant he would fail but always keep getting up even after he fell down. He knew that there was no other place to go other than God and not to take advice from people who were not where he wanted to be. Because by listening to them they would one more time steal his dream if he bought into their ideas for his life.
It was a long and hard journey he would say at the end. But a worthwhile one because he had accomplished everything and more than he thought he could. He kept saying that it was because of the revelations he had had while separated from Kristi and the kids. He would say it was a hard time but know in his heart that God was in control of it all that the outcome would be great and it was. The kids grew up to become very successful people that changed the world as we know it today. As for Shawn and Kristi they lived and one night while laying in each other’s arms went home quietly to be together with the Lord so many years before had drew them back together to Love each other more than any other person on the face of the planet.
There kids would say for many years after their deaths that their parents showed them how to live life without fear of man but in fear of God and that they owed all they ever knew about God to their Mother and Father. So as we look at the lives of this family we have to ask ourselves “How will we affect the world we live in?” it will not be an easy task but when looking back we all can see how God gave us all the strength to live out our lives for his glory

I am writing to share how God is just moving is a great way. My cousin’s husband had told my mom about a new business he was in. so as mom always does she told me. I then went to look at what it was all about and I was just amazed at what I saw. It was phone service with a video phone. It is the coolest thing I had ever seen. So my mother has help me get in to this business and I love it so far. I have my own web-site www.shawnthornton.acnrep.com so if anyone has time to look at this I would really appreciate it and let me know if you have any questions. Another web-site is www.videophonewealth.com this will also give you more information. Please do not pass this up.
My family and I have had our troubles with money and just life. I know that God has been with us the whole time. I believe he is here with me now more than ever. The things that have been happening to me are no less than divine appointments. My devotions this last year of 2008 and working in North Platte, Nebraska I believe prepared me for the next step. I hope you all take a look like I did.
I got a devotion from Charles Stanley on Jan. 14th out of (Numbers 13:25-14:10) the title (Focusing on God or Obstacles?) As I read this and considered the story of the Children of Israel did not go into the Promised Land because they did not believe they could. This was in spite of the fact that God had already told them to go. They were paralyzed with FEAR. How many times have we passed up opportunities in life because of FEAR? Then we look back and say, “I wish I would have made a different or better choice!” I believe that, we fail to remember we serve a God that is sovereign, made the earth and has our best interests in His mind. We have to be like Caleb with the faith that he believed God. I love the quote “My eye is not on the density of the storm, but on the LIVING God who controls ever circumstance of my life.” I hope that these words for God from the bible and the encouragement to take God at His word will help whoever reads this to draw closer to Jesus and just Believe.
I hope that the Lord blesses all who read this and that your relationship with God will grow.
God Bless,
Shawn Thornton

Just saw the dateline interview with Rick Warren. I am so pleased that we have this man as a national figure. It is about time that those of us that believe in Jesus get the black eye to start to heal. I read on Fox news about Ted Haggard and I pray that he has repented for his sins. But his acts were just not good because people trusted in him. Rick Warren Just like Billy Graham have not ever had scandal around them. I believe we as Christians have to rethink the way things we have been doing. What a role model Rick is for those that name Christ as Lord and savior.
Prayer:
Lord thank you for Rick please give him humility, wisdom, and strength. I ask that Rick’s actions will make everyone think of how they follow you Lord. Give Barack and Rick safety while they attempt to do what is right. Most of all that your will be done. Thank you Jesus.

Thank you for this decision. I have attended Rick Warren’s church. He is a real man of God. Now it makes me step back and ask the question with how that Gay agenda is now so hostile. These are people not but 20 years ago were asking for tolerance and they have changed the definition of the word. I have to accept their life style as it is ok with God and that I have to affirm them in it. This is not Tolerance. It is called the bully on the play ground. I feel as if all the want is revenge for years that they did not have a voice. Now that they have a voice they are doing exactly what they say they do not want done to them. Here are the real definitions of tolerance.
These are the Definitions:
- Acceptance of differing views:
the acceptance of the differing views of other people, e.g. in religious or political matters, and fairness toward the people who hold these different views
- Here you go now because I hold a view that I do not want to practice these kinds of acts I am told I am a bigot and intolerant. But as I see it there is not FAIRNESS at all towards my views. I get told no all the time about issues that I believe in but I do not go out and start riot NO. I deal with in an adult way with reason and thinking not brute force. This was the problems with the way Christians dealt with thing before. It was a very LONG time ago to. So I say get over it move oin with life.
- Tolerating of somebody or something: the act of putting up with somebody or something irritating or otherwise unpleasant
- I think that all of us that are human do this on a daily basis. We have to put up with someone doing things we do not like. Or like I have said before telling us no. all of us answer to someone else in our lives. I believe the fundamental problem is that we all want to be someone of importance. Not all of us can be movie stars and get want we want. We all no matter who we are live having to tolerate irritating or unpleasant things, people, and their ideas. We have to find a middle ground.
Why do I have to believe that this life style is right?
I do not want any person that lives as a LGBT American any harm. I would be classified as a right wing conservative JESUS FREAK. I know that I cannot push anyone to believe what I believe. If you have studied the Christian faith you would know that it is the Spirit of God the HOLY SPIRIT that changes a man’s mind. Each of us has choices to make each day of how we want to live, and we are the ones that are responsible for those choices. This division has to stop if it does not we are going to devour each other. I feel that because I believe in the Holy Bible and believe that being Gay is not pleasing to The God of the bible JESUS that I may get hurt by one of these people. It is because they have become so hostile wanting to push the issue of marriage.
Why can they not say thank you?
It is just like any selfish and self-center human and that means anyone around the world? When is it going to be enough? I just want the same thing they want the FREEDOM to live how I want. This is what our great country was founded on the desire for freedom. The men and women that came here were leaving the GREAT tyranny of Great Britain. Do we even remember our history? Then why are we destroying what these great people gave us. I know that many people sneer at those that first came over here. Well ok but, think of this if they did not come over you would not be here. You would be in England or Africa or who knows where you would not be here and neither would I.
There has to be a point in all who live in this country take a long hard look at their lives and ask this question, “How does my life affect other people?”
Because, we have to understand if you love your family no matter whom you are what kind of world are we going to give the next generation? I don’t care who you are you have to make this self-examination at how you affect the world and place you live. Do you try and make the place where you live a better place and a safer place to live. These are the base and foundational questions that have to be asked if the change that we all want is going to happen. The President-Elect can do it you have to. You cannot count on anyone but you to try and make the changes and for those of us that believe in Jesus and the bible it is our God that helps us to change.
There was a movie “Pay it forward.” This is the concept we need to have. As we go into 2009 ask yourself is there one thing a week I can do to help or put a smile on a complete strangers face. I think if we start with this it could grow and get us out looking so much at our own selfish wants. Like I have said, “I want no harm to come to those who live a Gay life style.” But enough is enough.
Shawn Thornton
